George I—A white suit of the time of Henry VIII. 17. George II—A suit of the time of Henry VIII, ornamented withgilding. Kings John, Henry III, Henry V and Henry VI were all in seventeenthcentury cuirassier armour, and carried flamberge swords of the sameperiod. Charles Brandon and Will Somers were in similar armour, thelatter wearing Henry VIIIs mask helmet (IV. 21), and QueenElizabeth wore over her dress a garde-rein from the fluted suit(II. 2), put on upside down. Most of these figures were mounted onOriental saddles with Turkey bridles. The interior of the HorseArmoury was drawn by Rowlandson and Pugin for the Microcosm ofLondon in 1809.
