Angioma serpiginosum. Close-up of red dots around the site of an old vaccine on the upper arm of a 50 year old woman. This is a skin condition known as angioma serpiginosum. The red dots, or punctae, are small blood vessels that have grown near the surface of the skin. The condition is most common in females under 20 years old. The cause is unknown. although it may be genetically inherited. The condition is harmless, but may be treated with lasers for cosmetic reasons.
