All Saints church at Earls Barton with its highly decorated Saxon tower, Northamptonshire, England

The southern approach to All Saints church at Earls Barton in Northamptonshire with its ornately decorated tower catching the late afternoon sun. The tower is decorated with Limestone Pilaster strips and Strapwork, which is unique to Anglo-Saxon architecture. Constructed from local stone, the tower is all that remains of the original Saxon Turriform church, it is also a fine example of traditional 'Long and Short' work
