Parks and gardens in the Ruhr area. The Nordsternpark is a landscape park on the site of the former Nordstern colliery in Gelsenkirchen. After the closure of the Nordstern colliery in 1993, the site was completely renovated and transformed into a landscape park. In 1997, the park hosted the Federal Garden Show. The site will be further redesigned as part of the IGA 2027.
