Father THOMAS OBRIEN THE Borough of Queens, and especially the Flushing section, iswell provided with not only the City Public Schools but also whatmay be termed Catholic Public Schools, as part of the organiza-tion of the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn. These are maintained in theseveral parishes, with free tuition and the use of school books. As allthe taxpayers support the City schools, so all the Catholic people bearthe extra burden of the parish schools. New school buildings of the very latest models have been recentlyerected in Flushing and Whitestone, and plans are under way for equallyfine school buildings in Bayside and College Point.
