The Fort Augustus section of the Caledonian Canal Inverness-shire Scottish Highlands. SCO 6050
To the north the canal enters Loch Ness, and within the village itself is a flight of locks that enable small boats to Cross from the Scottish West Coast through to the East joining the Sea once more at the Moray Firth at Inverness. With the launch in 2002 of the Great Glen Way, the 73 mile long distance path from Fort William to Inverness also encourages an increase to pleasure craft.
