A silver-mounted shashqa, Caucasus, circa 1900 Slightly curved, single-edged blade (somewhat stained in places) with triple fullers on both sides and a double-edged point. The base of the blade is etched on both sides with sun, moon, and stars. Finely hammered and engraved silver grip with niello, set with strips of beads. Wooden scabbard with hammered silver niello mountings en suite. The leather cover is a replacement.
