An experience of over thirty years asa railway operator on various roadsmakes Mr. Harris well Qualified to ful-fill the duties as president of the Harris is a graduate in civil engi-neering and has been connected with theengineering departments of the Chat-tanooga, Rome & Columbia Railway;Briarfield, Blockton & BirminghamRailway; Southern Railway; Alabama,Georgia & Florida Railroad, and the. G. H. HARRIS Georgia, Midland & Gulf Railroad. Heleft the employ of the last company in1890 to superintend the conversion ofthe Birmingham system from mulepower to electricity. At the completionof the reconstruction he became mastermechanic, in which capacity he serveduntil about 1902, when the office ofsuperintendent of traffic was Harris was chosen to fill that posi-tion and continued as superintendent oftraffic until 1904, when he was ap-pointed manager of the railway depart-ment of the company. His title wassubsequently changed to superintend-ent of the railway department. In 1914 Mr. Harris became generalsuperintendent of the San Francisco-Oakland Terminal Railways, in whichposition he had general charge of thetransportation and maintenance depart-ments. Since that time his responsi-bilities have been increased by the tak-ing over of direct personal charge ofseveral departments. Upon the resigna-tion of A. W.
