PHILIPPINE SEA (Feb. 14, 2022) Corporal Jason Galan, from Pico Rivera, Calif., assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conducts maintenance on a MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft from the 31st MEU in the hangar bay of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America, lead ship of America Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 31st MEU, is operating in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
