Most of you know how easy it is to force into flower the beautiful, fragrant, Paper White Narcissi, in bowls of water. By using Vaughan's prepared bulb fibre in place of pebbles, the variety of bulbs that can be forced is widely increased. METHOD OF FORCING BULBS IN FIBRE. Moisten Vaughan's Prepared Bulb Fibre to satu- ration, fill the bowl with wet fibre, and plant the bulbs allowing their necks to emerge from the fibre, but without pressing the fibre too firmly around them. Place the bowl in a cool, airy place where the light is dim or dark, and preferably the temperature does not rise above 55 degrees. Keep the fibre moist, since if it dries out the flower buds may go blind. But water sparingly until good roots have formed. When strong top growth has been made in the dark, take the bowl to a sunny window, where it will have fresh air, all the sunlight possible especially in the morning, and preferably a temperature not less than 55 nor more than 70 degrees.
