The rebuilding of Eritrea's railway between Masawa on the Red Sea Coast and Asmara the capital, following 30 years of abandonment and Civil War, was little short of a miracle. This scene dated 25 Feb 1998 shows Well Tank 202 010 built by Breda of Milan in 1937 undergoing renovation. Many artisans long since retired was recalled to spearhead the renaissance of this former Italian Colonial Railway albeit that many were in their 70s and 80s.
