New wheelie bins awaiting distribution as part of Wealden District Council's recycling scheme for households.

Wealden District is situated in East Sussex in the south of England. It has slowly been rolling out its kerbside recycling scheme for households within its area. Householders have two wheelie bins, each fitted with removable baskets. On week one domestic, non-recyclable refuse is collected along with plastic bottles, beverages cartons, food and drink cans, kitchen foil and empty aerosols. On week two a "green" bin (confusingly coloured in grey, the same as the other one!) containing grass cuttings, prunings cardboard, shredded paper and brown envelopes (without windows) is collected along with a basket containing newspapers and magazines, junk mail, white envelopes, office paper and phone books. Unfortunately for householders Wealden Council does not arrange to collect glass bottles at the kerbside. The wheelie Bins in this image have been delivered to the local recreation ground for distribution to households.
