Prenatal exercise. Full-term pregnant woman lying on her back with legs bent during a prenatal exercise. Her legs are raised to ease leg cramp and blood flow in the lower body. Prenatal exercises, often involving the stretching of the spine, help to strengthen muscles in the back and pelvis. They also partly remove pressure of the foetus on the spine relieving backache, a common problem towards the end of pregnancy.
