220518-N-OH262-0089 WASHINGTON (May 18, 2022)--Cadets attending the Merchant Marine Academy 'Parade the Colors' during the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony held to honor Merchant Mariners of WWII at the Capital, May 18. During WWII Merchant Mariners put their lives on the line for their country, braving German and Japanese submarines, in their Liberty Ships, as they delivered critical supplies for service members serving in the European and Pacific theaters.
