Y., March 23, 1832, the eldest son ofDr. Daniel Denison, and eighth in descent fromWilliam Denison, who was born in England about1586, and emigrated to America in 1631, settling atRoxbury, Mass., accompanied by his wife, Marga-ret, and their three sons—Daniel, Edward and was born in 1612, mar-rieda daughterof Gov. ThomasDudley, and had two children—John, who married a daugh-ter of Deputy Gov. John Sy-monds, and Elizabeth, whomarried John Rogers, presi-dent of Harvard. About 1653some of the Denisons built ahouse at Mystic, Conu., andsurrounded it by a stockadeto protect it from the assaultsof the Indians. The stockadehas since been removed, butthe house is still standing, andis occupied by members of theDenison faiuily,asitbas alwaysbeen.
