Moray eels are hunting as dusk and night and remain within a hole or cave during the day. They are territorial and prey on smaller fish and invertebrates. All morays possess two jaws to capture their prey and retract it into their stomach. Their body is snake-like shaped without pectoral pelvic fins. Moray eels are generally poisonous. This species is found all over the Mediterranean Sea and the eastern Atlantic in a depth between 5 to 50 m. It can grow to a maximum length of 150 cm.
