MODEL RELEASED. Epidural anaesthetic. Anaesthetist inserting a catheter into a patient's lower back, which has been numbed with local anaesthetic. The catheter will be used to administering the epidural anaesthetic, which is injected into the epidural space, the space between the dura mater (the outer membrane covering the spine) and the spinal cord.
