Saturday, June 22, 2013. Portions of Memorial Drive, a major road paralleling the Bow River, are still under water and remain closed as floodwaters recede in central Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The road was flooded after heavy rains caused the river to overflow its banks and led to declaration of a state of emergency, mandatory evacuation orders for the downtown core and many residential areas, power outages and property damage.
