There are two subtypes of the ware, depending on the variety of decoration. In one, broad stripes of black contain small geometric post-firing incised designs (fig. 145). Spirals, circles, frets, etc., are common elements. In the other variety, the black paint forms the design, usually more elaborate, and is outlined or accentuated by post-firing incising (figs. 143, 144, 146 to 149). One of the few nearly complete vessels of this kind bears essentially the same de- signs as a Black-and-White-on-Ked bowl (cf. figs. 149 and 150).
