Sala Senatorska (The Senate Chamber) in the Old Royal Palace, Warsaw, Poland. It was here that the Upper House of the Polish Parliament used to sit in the years 1742-1831. Here, too, the Constitution of May 3,1791 was passed as the first modern European statute regulating the system of government. The interior decoration of the Chamber has been reconstructed on the basis of drawings preserved in the Dresden State Archives (the painted decoration is the work of Andrzej Bertrandt).
