Hand painted with fluorescent ink. A person's hand exposed to short-wave ultra-violet light after being painted with fluorescent ink. Ultra-violet light is radiation which occurs beyond the visible violet light in the spectrum. Molecules in fluorescent ink absorb energy from the invisible ultra-violet light and re-emit it at a longer wavelength, in this case as blue light.
