Filippo Brunelleschi. Engraving of the Italian renaissance architect, sculptor and engineer Filippo Brunelleschi (1377-1446). Brunelleschi rediscovere

Filippo Brunelleschi. Engraving of the Italian renaissance architect, sculptor and engineer Filippo Brunelleschi (1377-1446). Brunelleschi rediscovered the principles of linear perspective which were used by the Greeks and Romans. He used these to create an architectural style based on mathematics and proportion. His most famous work is the dome of the cathedral of Florence, Italy. This dome, known as the Duomo, was built with the aid of machines designed by Brunelleschi. He is seen as one of the key artistic figures in the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern era.
