Activists and supporters of the GLBTQ community attend the remembrance stand in memory of the Sarah Hegaziat at the Homomonument amid the Coronavirus pandemic on June 19, 2020 in Amsterdam,Netherlands. Sarah Hegazi, an Egyptian queer communist activist woman, died by suicide on June 14, 2020 after being brutally and violently imprisoned by the Sissi regime. She was imprisoned after waving a rainbow flag at the 2017 Mashrou Leïla concert. Public outcry and a campaign of humiliation led to her arrest. Sarah ran to Canada to seek asylum - leaving behind the family and community she desperately needed.
