Blooms best when somewhat pot-bound. Our bulbs are collected in one particular locality where they grow much finer and larger than any we- ever saw offered at the North. When or by whom the above {fanciful name was bestowed on this Orinum we cannot tell, but we learn that it was given because the plant usually produces thirteen flowers to each umbel, one in the center sur- rounded by the other twelve, representing Christ and the twelve apostles.
