The pumpkin is not large but of a delightful quality, just the quality to make excellent pies, and I am sure that no pumpkin ever introduced has given more genuine pleasure to my customers than this Yankee Pie. I know this variety will give you great satisfaction. It is extremely early, remarkably prolific, yielding 6 to 12 medium sized pumpkins to a vine, fine grain, sweet, sugary, and the earliest pie pumpkin I know of. Per pkt. sc.; oz. 10c; % lb. 25C; y2 lb. 40c; lb. 65c. Quaker New Japanese Pie.—A wonderful variety from Japan, and is one of the most valuable cooking pumpkins. Flesh thick and of a rich salmon color, very solid and the seed cavity is very small in one end of the pumpkin ; fine grained, dry and sweet, and is claimed to make pies as rich without eggs as other varieties do with.
