Grand Duke Nicholas Alexandrovich of Russia, c1861-c1864. Grand Duke Nicholas (1843-1865) was the eldest son of Tsar Alexander II and was Tsarevich (heir apparent) from 1855 until his death. He died from meningitis in Nice on 24 April 1865. Found in the collection of the Russian State Film and Photo Archive, Krasnogorsk.
