IN rasa/ ASSET5< IN 1903 CHAPTER VINecrology of the Decade IN the case of so large a fraternity as the insurance communityof the United States, and especially one including so manymen whose membership has dated back a generation ormore and so many men of prominence in the business world,the death roll of a decade is bound to be a long and notable number of insurance workers of at least local prominencewho passed away in the ten-year period, 1894-1903, inclusive,must have run into the thousands, and it is of course impossible10 even attempt to here present anything like a complete list ofthe insurance dead who in their day were men of national reputa-tion. In order to complete this history of the period, however,we have compiled a list of some of the more notable characterswho in the memorable decade passed to that undiscoverd coun-
