The chief thing to be desired at thepresent moment is competent directionin the shape of a president who canform a coherent educational plan andunite it to the general plan for the de-velopment of the institution. No onewill undertake to form such a plan ex-cept a permanent head who expects todevelop the same through a series ofyears, and the institution has much tolose while it is waiting to be put intothis line of definite growth.
