In the meantime Patrolman Truitt hadbeen wrestling with the other yeggman,the shorter of the two, on the porch justoutside the door. At Scotts command of Hands up ! this man had obeyed in-stantly, at the same time darting for free-dom. Leaping after him, Truitt caughthim on the porch, had him pinned, andwas slipping the cufFs on him, whenthe tall yeggman came out. TRUITT The pictureof Patrolman Scott was taken at Mercy Hospital, Baltimore, where hehasbeen since March 28:h,recovering from four bullet wounds received in the battle which he and Patrolman Truitt fought with theyeggmenat Rogers Station, Md. bullet tore through Truitts coat and vest,from one side to the other, just grazinghis chest. While this was happening, theshorter man wrenched himself loose anddealt Truitt a terrific blow on the back of thehead with the butt of a heavy marine corpsrevolver which was afterward found in hispossession.
