Palazzo Flangini covered in scaffolding is under a restoration programme. It is a Baroque palace built in 1644 by architect Giuseppe Sardi for the Flangini family, a Greek Cypriot family in Venice in the Veneto region of northern Italy. On 12th November 2019, the Regional Council of Veneto, which meets in the Palazzo, rejected several policy amendments designed to tackle climate change. Just minutes later, at around 10 PM, flood waters poured in from the nearby Grand Canal, into the council chamber. This was the first time the Palazzo history had ever been flooded.
