Sgt. Joseph Arruda drags his simulated casualty during the culminating event of the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor course Dec. 17 aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. The course consisted of free sparring, combat conditioning and tests. The MAI course is part of Marine Corps Installations Pacific’s ability to strengthen power projection with our allies and partners. Arruda is an aviation supply specialist with Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 1, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
