Česká Zbrojovka (Czech Armory) or CZ used to be the largest manufacturer of small arms in the Czech Republic, but now concentrates on making forklift trucks and components for the wider automotive industry. It began making CZ motorcycles at Strakonice in 1935 and the brand survived until the 1990s. It had some success in Grand Prix motorcycle road racing, but became better known for off-road sports such as motocross. Rožmberk, once known by the German name Rosenberg an der Moldau, lies in the Český Krumlov District of South Bohemia. It was founded on a trade route in the mid-13th century and was owned until 1611 by the Bohemian aristocratic House of Rožmberk. Its main tourist attraction – apart from hotels, restaurants and opportunities for off-road biking – is one of South Bohemia’s oldest castles, the former Rožmberk family fortress built on a rocky spur high above the Vltava.
