09/05/2022 Tilbury UK Luxury cruise ship Viking Star sailed from London International Cruise Terminal (Tilbury) to continue her world cruise, hornet port of call Bergen in Norway. The 228m cruise ship joined Viking Ocean Cruises’ fleet in 2016 and is the lead ship of the Viking Star Class. The cruise ship is powered by hybrid engines, collects solar energy via roof mounted solar cells, and has sophisticated filtration to remove pollutants from her exhaust as well as using sea water to lubricate the ship’s propeller drive shafts. Viking Star’s upper deck has a silver dollar welded in place for good luck.
