I have heretofore been prejudiced against '? white cored" Watermelons but I think this the best eating melon I ever tasted, and this seems to be the general opinion of all who have eaten of them I took some to our Fair, where there were much larger and better looking ones than mine, but when the judges came around and tested their quality they unhesitatingly gave mine the first premium lhe melons are quite tender and thin shelled, and will not bear rough handling, but they proved to be first rate keepers notwithstanding ; I kept lots of them nearly two months after picking. The vines seem to be more productive than any other variety I have tried. On the whole I am much pleased with this variety, and if I raise a crop this year for market, I shall plant this ; Jan.
