An actof Congress required the o]>ening of the University by Julv, TuE Olu Dokm 14 1874, so in March, 1874, Professor Houghman began work andconducted classes until June. The following special courses of study had been organ-ized by the Board of Trustees :School of Science (1) Physics and Industrial Mechanics. (2)
