The 6th Fleet command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) departs her homeport of Gaeta, Italy for routine operations. Mount Whitney's mission is to reassure NATO allies of the Navy's commitment to strengthen and improve interoperability while working toward mutual goals in the 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
