MoRGANTOwN, a thriving post village, capital of Monongaliacounty, Virginia, is finely situated on the Monongahela river, 295miles N. W. from Richmond. It has facilities for trade by thesteamboat navigation of the river. Morgantown contains a courthouse, a bank, three newspaper offices, and several mills. Popula-tion, about 1000.
