He further argues that regularity in meals,exercise, work and rest have a powerful effect in tranquilizingthe mind, breaking up wrong associations of ideas and inducingcorrect habits of thinking as well as acting. Lee, assistantphysician, was promoted to the office of superintendent. Dr. Leedied in October, 1836, at the age of 28, while on a visit to hisfriend. Dr. Woodward, at the newly opened Worcester was a man of remarkable brilliancy and lovableness, and hisone report is a unique document in its grasp of the needs of theasylum and in its moral force.
