The drawing of two attendance prizes was placed in the hands of Fred C. Bruenig, Andre Bourdet and A. W. Gumz. The winners were Joseph Frank and Hugo Werner. Since both were ab- sent, they could not claim the prizes and lost the opportunity of not having to pay a year's dues. Treasurer Smith's report showed a healthy balance on the right side of the ledger. The printing of a new membership roster came up for discussion. This re- sulted in a motion to place the matter in the hands of the trustees and the sec- retary and to rc])ort at the next regular meeting for action thereon. The chair called upon Edwin Denker for a talk on his trip to Now York, where he attended Max Schling's seliodl; Mr. Denker's remarks were in- deed interesting. George H. Pring gave an account of his tri]) to Cleveland, where he worked ?with the board of education on school gardens. Prof. II. C. Irish spoke on the Mis- souri state fair, which opens at Se- dalia, Mo., August 21.
