Popular among Poles and foreign tourists, the museaum to Poland’s greatest 19th century musician has undergone eight months of renovation aimed at better presenting the memorabilia that include Chopin’s last piano and manuscripts of his music. On the opening day of the Museum, it will be possible to see, among other things, Frederic Chopin's letters to his friend Wojciech Grzymala and his love George Sand. In reference to the 160th anniversary of the January Uprising, the Museum will also feature a special temporary exhibition of the manuscript of Cyprian Kamil Norwid's poem "Chopin's Piano".Chopin was born in 1810 near Warsaw to a Polish mother and a French father. Seeking to develop his talent he traveled in 1830 to Vienna and then to Paris, where he settled until his death in 1849.
