Clydebank, Scotland 23 September 2019 Airbus H145 Air ambulance at the Golden Jubliee Hospital, Clydebank. The Air Ambulance fleet comprises two helicopters and two fixed wing planes which are fully funded by the NHS. Also greatly assisted by Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) who currently provide one additional helicopter, with fundraising underway for a second aircraft. On average, SCAA respond to one time-critical emergency call out every single day. They rely solely on donations from the public as they receive no government funding.

They respond to emergency calls and requests from remote, rural or island clinicians to provide medical care and transport to mainland health care facilities. Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance operate an EC135-t2i helicopter, which is based at Perth Airport, which responds to trauma incidents and medical emergencies across Scotland. Two King Air 200c planes are based in Aberdeen and Glasgow and in the main, they respond to medical requests to transfer patients between hospitals.
