The Aircraft Restoration Company based at Duxford airfield in Cambridgeshire have painted 'THANK U NHS' on the underside of their blue Spitfire in honour of the work during the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic and have flown it around the local area on special occasions. Today they flew it further afield over a number of hospitals including Basildon. The Spitfire is a Photo Reconnaissance PRXI version, serial number PL983, and painted blue for camouflage at high levels during WWII
