SpaceX Dragon capsule. Astronaut photograph from the International Space Station (ISS) of the third Dragon cargo capsule from SpaceX (Space Exploration Technologies) just before docking with the ISS. This capsule was designed and manufactured under NASA's COTS (Commercial Orbital Transportation Services) initiative, set up to encourage private companies to ship cargo to the ISS after the retirement of the shuttle program in 2011. Launched as mission SpaceX CRS-3 on 18th April from Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, the capsule was captured by the space station and successfully berthed. Photographed by an Expedition 39 crew member on 20th April 2014.
