St Mary of Zion church, Aksum, Ethiopia. Several separated boys and girls are doing catechesis inside the church of St Mary of Zion in Axum. The Ark of the Covenant is a relic fervently venerated by the Ethiopians for which the churches keep in their most sacred enclosure a replica of the Ark of the Covenant which contains the Tabot. The Tabot that is kept in the Ethiopian churches is a replica (in wood or stone) of the Tables of the Law whose original would be conserved in Santa Maria de Sion, in Axum.
