There was a model of a closedcar window sash, with catches and an automatic curtain which is madein S styles; also a new curtain for open cars, which stays where it isput, and will not come out of the grove, nor tilt up. This curtain wasshown in a section of an open car. The center of the exhibit spacewas ornamented by a picture of the works of the company, that restedon an oak easel. On the left was a pyramid of oakette, the water. roofing material for power houses and car barns. F. S. De Ronde,manager, J. C. Shainwald, Chicago, and H. F. Gillespie had a busytime attending to the wants of managers. A Mexican grass card caseand memoranda was given away as a reminder that the P. & li. insu-lating compounds are giving satisfaction wherever used, becausethey are carefully manufactured of the best ingredients and are freefrom injurious substances. The Sterling Supply and Manufacturing Company, New York, hada large and prominent space in which to display its exhibit. Thenew Sterling register, which will totalize 100,000, was shown bothclosed and open, so as to show the working. The register is positivein its action, with one trip wheel and one totalizing wheel, the cogsof which mesh. Whenever an attempt is made to manipulate themachine by pulling out the handle the machine is locked and the direc-tion plate falls off line, showing no reading. The company also had anumeral dial register. A
