Autumn sunlight in Måbødalen, Norway
Måbodalen is a dramatic valley on the northern edge of the Hardangervidda in Norway. The Rv7 highway passes through it on its way from the Hardangerfjord at Eidfjord east over the Hardangervidda to Hallingdal and Hønefoss. It is the highest National Road (Ricksvei) in the country. The road was realigned through a series of tunnels in Måbodalen in recent years, one of which is visible in the photograph. The former road is now used as a footpath and cycle route.
