The Pixaim River, just off the Transpantaneira Highway south of Pocone, Brazil is part of the Pantanal wetlands, the world's largest tropical wetland area. The Pantanal ecosystems is extremely diverse with many rare or endangered species such as the marsh deer, giant river otter, giant anteater and hyacinth macaw.
