J. H. P. H. Strompf Co., now located at 1114 Third avenue, will move the first part of July to 979 Lexington avenue, between Seventieth and Seventy-first streets. TORONTO, ONT. The Market. With the coming of warm weather the flower business has slowed up some- what. Garden flowers are coming in and are taking the place of the green- house varieties in some cases. Vaxlous Notes. The various floral societies are hold- ing flower shows all over the country. In Toronto there have been several. The largest one was that of the Eose Society, in which amateurs and profes- sionals exhibit. The exhibitions were fine this year. There were roses entered from various parts of the province and there were keen contests in all classes. The judges were well known to all flo- rists and included John H. Dunlop, H. J. Moore, Professor Crowe, F. Davidson, B. Hughes, A. Kirkness, R. S. Holmes, Mrs. Dunnington-Grubb, Miss Yates, Miss Galbraith and Miss Eoye. The members of the Gardeners' and Florists' Association and the Toronto Retail Florists' Club were the guests of Senator Frederick Nicholls at his home in York county June 23. They were shown his beautiful gardens and were entertained at tea. Many florists have arranged to close their stores half a day weekly in July a»d August. The downtown stores are mostly closing Saturday afternoons and the uptown stores, Wednesday after- noons. All the stores will close Wed- nesday afternoon, July 6, to pe
