On December1, 1889, he came to Cincinnati as a car-penter in the car shop at Stock Yards,remaining there until July, 1901, whenhe was promoted and placed in charge ofthe newly opened repair track at position he still fills, in addition tohis duties of wreckmaster. His long years of service, together withhis ability as a wreckman, have madehim known from one end of the Road tothe other.
