Stewart, Skinner Co., Worcester,Mass., offer to the trade the LightningBug Electric Lantern here lantern requires the ordinary single cell battery, which is used fordoor bells, telephones, motor cars, etc.,and which can be purchased for 25c. The makers claim the lantern is in-dispensable in the home, barn, garage,camp, etc., and it is always ready foruse. The reflector furnished in connectionwith the Lightning Bug is made of awhite metal which takes a very highpolish. The added brilliancy of this metal isclaimed by the makers to produce one-. third more light than of electric lanternswhich have reflectors made of brass andare either silver or nickel plated. Owing to the new scientific angle ofthe reflector, it is said, the maximumamount of light is obtained without theuse of condensing lense. In its place isused the ordinary clear straight glasswhich can be replaced at very little ex-pense in case of breakage. This reflector is designed to spread thelight rather than to give the searchlighteffect which is produced by any illum-inating device in which a concentratinglense is used. The widespread light gives an abund-ance of light close by instead of throw-ing a narrow stream of light at a dis-tance.
